Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine

This hidden gem is located in front of Harbor Freight Tools on Brainerd Road. We walked in not realizing that they were closing soon so they could get ready for the dinner menu. It is a romantic setting and seemed even more so for dinner. We ordered sushi and it seems more restaurants are going to the pencil and paper menu as that is how you order the sushi. The sushi was very fresh and so was the fish. 
I ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken. The chicken had great flavor and the rice was fresh. The picture for this dish somehow accidently got deleted. I wish I could describe the dish more but, it is something that I would definitely order again. The cashews gave it a unique flavor and that's what made the dish. My fiancé ordered the Mango Shrimp. It was spicy, but not not too spicy. The mango gives it the right amount of sweetness. 
For dessert, they bring out the best coconut ice cream you will ever taste! It was creamy and very smooth and a very good way to cleanse your palate.

Ooltewah's newest restaurant has soul

Davis Wayne's is located in Cambridge Square in the old Cuban restaurant location. They opened back in October and honestly I wish I would've known about this place before now. Everyone is friendly and that makes you want to come back. Food is very good. The Pork Tenderloin is very good, not too spicy. The mac and cheese is off the chain, very cheesy! The greens are seasoned perfectly, which is hard to find in a restaurant. The broccoli is al dente and also perfectly seasoned and covered in real cheese. You can tell its not cheap, processed cheese. The fried corn is buttery and also seasoned right. The sweet potato casserole is good and is torched on top. Chicken is so tender not even a butter knife is needed to cut it, juicy and flavorful. The cornbread is great! Menu style is different. Now, the desserts are made from scratch every day. Mike's Tavern

Mike's Tavern is located at 5211 HWY 153 in Hixson behind California Tortilla and across the street from Smoothie King. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated. The waitress wasn't too far behind getting our drink order. For our appetizer, we ordered the Ahi Tuna over a bed of wasabi slaw. The tuna was so tender and so fresh it tasted like steak. Fish is slowly growing on me, guys. For entrees, I ordered Shrimp and Grits. Blackened jumbo shrimp served over pepper jack grits and finished with andouille cream sauce. The grits were so creamy it melted in your mouth and the shrimp had excellent flavor and wasn't too spicy. My fiance ordered the Grouper sandwich with Southern Slaw as the side.
