Carrabba's Italian Grill 2040 Hamilton Pl. Blvd.
Late Sunday afternoon we walked into the restaurant and were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress took our drink order and as we were deciding on an appetizer we noticed a couple with a little boy behind us. The couple wasn't paying any attention to him and he was running all over the place. They even lost him for a minute. They finally got him back into the booth and the next thing I know, he's sneezing in my hair! Now, being the person that I am I decided to keep my mouth shut and when they told him to get down, thankfully he did. Now, this is not the restaurants fault, but, it did kinda ruin our date. What we did notice was the carpet under our table wasn't swept before we were seated and the carpet going toward the kitchen was dirty. The hosts were dressed comfortably in t-shirts, while the servers were dressed a whole lot nicer. Our appetizer wasn't what we thought it would be, the Zucchini Fritte. It is hand-breaded and lightly fried zucchini served with a roasted garlic aioli. We were expecting strips, not fries. The flavor was there but, they were almost too thin to pick up with our hands. The garlic aioli was great. The Caesar salad was good. My boyfriend got the garden salad and it had the Caesar dressing on it instead of something else on it or on the side. I ordered the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Arugula. The chicken was juicy and it paired well with the peppery taste of the Arugula and the tomatoes. The grilled lemon pulled all the flavors together. The fresh broccoli was cooked just right, which no one has gotten right until now.
I didn't like it due to the fact that I don't Fri k neither coffee nor alcohol. It tasted ok with the biscotti but, when I drank it straight I didn't like it.
My boyfriend ordered the Fettuccine Weesie. The dish is heavy. The sauce is gritty like it had been sitting around for a while. It's not for someone with a small appetite. For dessert we ordered the Sogno Di Cioccolata, or a.k.a. Chocolate Dream.
It was very light and mousse-y, the chocolate cake gave it just the right texture it needed. We also got a coffee drink with Bailey's in it. I didn't like it due to the fact that I don't Fri k neither coffee nor alcohol. It tasted ok with the biscotti but, when I drank it straight I didn't like it.
