Let this fast food joint do the cook out for you!

Image
Looking forward to a cook out? Don't want to buy all the supplies or don't feel like dragging out and cleaning the grill? Let Cook Out do it for you! Everything comes in Styrofoam boxes or bags making clean up a breeze. Wanna know the best part? Its cheap! They have a whole menu for items that range from $1-$2 and the trays are $5 and you get a lot of food for that price and it even includes a large drink. This includes one sandwich or burger of your choice and 2 sides of your choice and there are too many to name. These burgers are better than McDonald's or Burger King. They aren't too salty and they are very flavorful. The chili has too much chili powder in it. The slaw has a somewhat weird taste and there are very few onion rings to an order but, I still would pick this place first over any other burger/fast food joint. We would definitely be back and order different sides to get the most of the deal!

New Texas Roadhouse in Hixson

Fairly new Texas Roadhouse in Hixson is located next to Cook Out on 153. It was packed for a Wednesday night and service was slow due to the fact that the kitchen staff being behind but, I'm sure they weren't expecting a crazy rush on a Wednesday night between 7 and 8. We were seated against the window in a small booth where there was too much on the table. The host takes hot, fresh rolls to your table as they walk you to the table. Regular butter would have been better than cinnamon butter as the rolls are already sweet. For appetizer, we ordered the Cactus Blossom. I haven't had one in years and it just wasn't as good as I remember. It is too big of an onion for 2 people. Ranch would be better instead of the other sauce you get. The onion would be better with more spice on the onion itself instead of being in the sauce. Some parts of the onion weren't done and raw batter was on the bottom of the plate. We honestly think this shouldn't be their featured item...

Crown Macaroons

Looking for something sweet to send a loved one? Or maybe just for yourself or at your next gathering? Look no further than Crown Macaroons, formerly Joy Macaroons. For those that remember or paid attention, these were the macaroons that were in the mall in the kiosk in front of Victoria's Secret. I got one of each flavor that was left and let me just say that they were all so good that I don't have a favorite! Every flavor was perfectly made. None were too strong. They were just right. This girl has perfected the macaroon formula! These can be ordered in any quantity online as long as the order is placed in plenty of time. Visit crownmacarons.com to place your order today! Delivery is available as well as sending them where they need to go. We bought these twice and they were eaten in one sitting they were so good! I got the following flavors: Nutella, vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, espresso, cookies and cream and strawberry.

Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine

This hidden gem is located in front of Harbor Freight Tools on Brainerd Road. We walked in not realizing that they were closing soon so they could get ready for the dinner menu. It is a romantic setting and seemed even more so for dinner. We ordered sushi and it seems more restaurants are going to the pencil and paper menu as that is how you order the sushi. The sushi was very fresh and so was the fish.  I ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken. The chicken had great flavor and the rice was fresh. The picture for this dish somehow accidently got deleted. I wish I could describe the dish more but, it is something that I would definitely order again. The cashews gave it a unique flavor and that's what made the dish. My fiancĂ© ordered the Mango Shrimp. It was spicy, but not not too spicy. The mango gives it the right amount of sweetness.  For dessert, they bring out the best coconut ice cream you will ever taste! It was creamy and very smooth and a very good way to cleanse your pal...
